Ark. Legislature Notes UAFS Basketball Achievement

Found @

Fort Smith Republican Jim Medley led the way in a bi-partisan resolution honoring UA Fort Smith's Men's Basketball team and head coach Jeremy Cox for winning the Junior College National Championship. All local representatives of both political stripes joined in to sing their praises. State Senator Denny Altes led the way on the senate side.

"Most of the representatives did not even know that UA Fort Smith had won the national championship," Medley said. "After it passed they got a standing ovation."

"It's wonderful to have our institution and the men's basketball coaches and players honored by the General Assembly," Dr. Sandi Sanders, interim chancellor at UA Fort Smith, said. "We appreciate the leadership, friendship and support of our area legislators and especially that of Senator Altes and Representative Medley for their individual sponsorship of the Resolutions."

The Sniper wants to add his two cents of congrats as well.
Well done to :

Also, great work to coaches:

Everyone in Arkansas should stand up and applaud the UA Fort Smith Lions for representing Arkansas, Fort Smith, and the university well - both on and off the court.
